We are the
first and largest healthy food chain in Asia. As a pioneer of the healthy
eating movement, our core values are integrity, respect, and a commitment to
excellence – reflected in every step of our process whether it is how we work
with our farm partners, the new locally inspired dressing of the season, or the
way our team is considered family.
Our family came together with a shared dream – a more conscious way of eating that is truly GOOD. Growing up, our mother taught us about honoring and respecting our connection to nature and family dinners were an opportunity for a home-cooked meal, using the simplest and most natural ingredients.
SaladStop! was founded in 2009 with the aim of bringing a new dimension to salads and approach to fast food. Today’s society is becoming increasingly disconnected with their food – we want to show that food consumption should be honest, trustworthy and real. As we’ve grown over the past few years, we constantly strive to improve and embrace an attitude to be “better than yesterday”.
We currently operate in Singapore, Manila, Jakarta, Tokyo, and Barcelona and aim to become the world’s leading nutrition, health, and wellness company serving the best tasting, most nutritious food. As we expand our footprint in the region, we remain true to our core values and commitment to the ideology of “Eat Wide Awake” through all aspects.
As we set up the salad bar every morning, we are driven by the communities that we work with and the lives that we are able to impact. We are just at the beginning of an amazing journey and dream about a world where farmers are respected and customers can start trusting their food again. We are still a small company but with big dreams and hope that we can be one of the catalysts in this change.
SaladStop! first opened its store in the Philippines December of 2014 in Central Square, Bonifacio Global City. Currently, SaladStop! Philippines operates 11 stores in Metro Manila and 1 in Cebu. Specialty Food Retails Inc. is the exclusive franchise holder of SaladStop! in the Philippines.
Our shared dream is a more conscious
way of eating. Simply put, we want to change the way people think about their
food. We want everyone to wake up to the fact that you are what you eat, and
our mission is to be a leader in this change to “Eat Wide Awake”.
We are not
just a food chain. We are a movement that believes it is a basic human right to
truly eat well.
Eating wide awake is our commitment to finding the best possible
ingredients to feed the mind, body and spirit by taking into consideration
the environment, animal welfare as well as the food chain.
In a world where speed, time and money is paramount, we sometimes get
carried away and forget about appreciating the things that fuel us and keep us
going – our own food. We want people to Stop! and think about their food, understand
where it came from; think about the hands, soil and time that made it possible.
With the motto “Eat Wide Awake”, we emphasize the importance of what goes
into your body and this motto is reflected in the global shift towards leading healthier
lifestyles, which has led to a significant rise in demand for food that is not
only delicious but also nutritious and healthy. It is pushing towards an end to "pre-made
culture" and ensuring a more conscious way of eating - the "Eat Wide
Awake" movement. For us, every bowl that you enjoy is the result and
catalyst of a positive cycle of change.
The Eat Wide Awake movement extends beyond SaladStop!. By asking more
questions and searching for answers, you become a part of the movement towards
greater transparency in the food industry. It's time to stop snoozing and start
eating wide awake!
Every ingredient takes less
than 72 hours from earth to bowl, from source verified partners in our local
networks. This is our big picture – that knowing where your food comes from is
a basic right, such that living healthily and consciously becomes an easy choice.
We work actively with food partners who share a commitment to responsible
produce and the utmost freshness and quality.
As part of the movement towards healthier eating, we see food
transparency as one of the keystones of our movement. In our fast-paced world,
we sometimes forget to consider the journey our food travels before landing on
our plates. We forget to stop and ask ourselves: Where is it from? How has it
impacted the environment? How is it being prepared? How is it affecting our
It is our responsibility as a food provider to ask those questions and
provide you with more information, and that means continually raising our own
standards as well.
As we say in our stores, we are not perfect but we strive to be better
than yesterday. This is at the core of how we operate. While we realize that
this region still has its challenges in responsible and transparent sourcing,
we hope to be one of the catalysts in this change, to support a new breed of
farms committed to positive change.
We truly believe that a great end product is only possible through great
partners, and our ability to influence and work with the right ones only grows
as we have grown. As we look to the next few years, we are excited about building on our
founding commitment to food transparency and challenging ourselves to source
ever more responsibly by working with partners with the same ethos.
